Inga Sempé

Inga Sempé (b. 1968) graduated from the Parisian ENSCI-Les Ateliers (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle) and, before founding her own design studio, worked with, among others, Australian Marc Newson and French designer Andrée Putman.

Her work has been exhibited at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (2003) and the Triennale di Milano (2024), and she has been in residence at Villa Medici,Académie de France in Rome.

Inga Sempé is known for her simple and poetic, but never minimalist or ascetic, idiom, where materials and function go hand in hand with clear aesthetic choices. Over the years, she has designed products – both furniture, tableware, textiles and lighting – for some of the most influential players in the international industry, including Ligne Roset, Magis, Wästberg, Svenskt Tenn and Kvadrat.

The Carte Postale collection, consisting of six different throws, is her first for Danish Elvang.
